Everything Changes
From the very beginning, sudden and profound changes have shaped my life and personality. Grief has been a lifetime friend as a burden and a gift. Life has shown me that nothing stays the same, it is always in motion, always transforming. And so are we, as human becomings.
What existence revealed and continues to invite me is to embrace the unknown, the seamless mystery. To accept groundlessness, and the little agency we truly have in life.
Tragedies and blessings arrive without moral order and beyond our control, until we reach our common fate: oblivion.
Life is chaos. We are her children. Lets dance and fall in love with life!
I have searched for beauty in dark places through personal loss and in my work as an artist for UNICEF. That took me to conflict and crisis areas around the world. From my lived gnosis, I created two unique methods:
Future Me – an innovative educational art and culture program for personal flourishing, resilience, and futures visioning. Grounded in positive psychology and political science, Future Me has been taught in Dutch schools for over seven years. We work mainly with children with special needs (ages 7–21) and in juvenile prisons. Deprivation of Futures awareness, not being able to see a life and future that is meaningful and empowering, is an aspect of complex trauma. Our team of trained artists, musicians, and athletes guide the program, with expertise in futures awareness, complex trauma, pedagogy and non-verbal learning.
Hatha Sueño Yoga (HSY) – Cultivating Mind, Body, Spirit and Gardens
HSY is a traditional Yoga practice devoted to the flow of Shakti.
It is an invitation to re-connect with ourselves and follow our bliss, our human birthright.
HSY is a method I have developed from my lived loved human experiences.
Rooted in traditional Yoga and viewed through a Tantric lens, the practice helps to digest stagnant energies and unresolved emotions with the support of Shakti, also known as Prana or Chi in the body.
Pranayama, the art of guiding life force through rhythmic breathing, plays a central role. Combined with yogic postures (asana), ritual, imagination, and self-reflection, it has proven to be a powerful catalyst for transformation.
For a deep intimicy with what life is: Love, innocent and amoral.
This has been my lived reality and the shared experience of many students I have guided over the past decade.
